This is the Orchestre de Tetouan from Morocco. They were scheduled to play on the terrace, but because the members of the band are Muslim and it is Ramadan, they refused to play in front of the beer drinking audience. So, in a moment of grand improvisation and volunteer door staff mobilization, they played inside the theater.
Crazy as that might have been, it’s about on par for the kinds of challenges the festival runs into every year — and also what makes it so cool to be a part of.
